Fireside chat with theScore’s John Levy to close out Betting on Sports America – Digital

SBC has announced that its star-studded lineup for next month’s Betting on Sports America – Digital event now includes a closing fireside chat with theScore Founder and CEO John Levy.

Levy, who will be interviewed by CNBC’s Contessa Brewer, rounds out one of the most impressive speaker rosters in the history of events for the sports betting industry in the US.

The list of executives delivering keynotes during the virtual conference and expo on December 1 & 2 also includes:

  • Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US
  • Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts
  • Dany Garcia, Owner of the XFL
  • Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa Sports

Levy, a highly successful and experienced media entrepreneur, exemplifies the importance of having a strategic plan for the future. His visionary approach led to theScore becoming the first North American media company to create and launch a sportsbook – offering a completely unique and deeply-integrated experience that fuses media and betting – and has since helped to secure access to key markets across the US.

He founded theScore cable television network in the mid-1990s and, after growing it to become Canada’s leading independent sports broadcaster, sold to Rogers Media in 2012. However, he had the foresight to carve out theScore’s digital assets and subsequently evolved them into one of the first multi-sport news and data apps in North America.

The widely popular theScore app is now used by more than four million fans a month, while theScore Bet’s immersive and holistic mobile sports betting experience is currently available to players in New Jersey, Colorado, and Indiana.

Levy, who will use the fireside chat to share some of his experiences of and ideas for the sports betting sector, feels BOSA-Digital is the perfect setting for the industry to gather during such uncertain times.

He said: “With the return of sports, we’ve witnessed not just an increased appetite for the progression of regulated sports betting, but also repeated displays of the valued role sports media plays in this rapidly expanding industry. Yet, as betting develops across North America, so too are sports fans’ media and betting behaviors.

“There’s no better forum than BOSA-Digital to tackle this subject and look ahead to what the future might hold for the sports fan and bettor alike.”

The centerpiece of BOSA-Digital is the high-level conference, which will see 130 senior executives and specialists sharing invaluable insights across an eight-track agenda focused on the vast opportunities and major challenges the North American sports betting industry is presented with.

The event will also have an interactive product display area where operators will be able to learn about the next generation of products and solutions from international suppliers, talk to suppliers’ expert teams, and experience the products directly through demos. There will be further opportunities for operators and suppliers to connect in the virtual networking lounge, the meeting rooms in the virtual networking bar, and at the program of themed networking roundtables.
