Well known Las Vegas oddsmaker Jimmy Vaccaro has been appointed as Director of Sports Relations for Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. His role will encompass advising and further developing the Rivers Sportsbook, which opened at the North Shore casino in December 2018.
Bill Keena, General Manager of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, welcomed the appointment, saying: “We’re thrilled to bring Jimmy back home to Pennsylvania. When it comes to sports betting — customer experience, operational excellence, setting the odds — Jimmy is the gold standard.”
Vaccaro, a household name among many sports wagering fans, was most recently Director of Sports Marketing for South Point Hotel Casino and Spa in Las Vegas, where he had worked since 2013. He is also a regular expert contributor all things sports betting on CNN, ESPN and social media.
He began his career in the 1970s as a blackjack dealer at the Royal Inn, eventually going on to become the facility’s first sportsbook manager. Subsequently, he managed sportsbooks at Mirage, MGM Grand, Golden Nugget and Barbary Coast, among others.
