NBA deepens Latin American commitment with Supermatch partnership

The sports betting operator of Uruguay’s national lottery, Supermatch has been announced as an official partner of the National Basketball Association.

It comes as the league seeks to strengthen its presence within the Latin American region, as Supermatch becomes the only first official gaming partner of the NBA in the region.

The partnership will be promoted in over 6,000 Uruguayan retail locations, as well as on the various Supermatch and the NBA online platforms, including NBA.com, the NBA App and NBA Latin American social media platforms.

La Banca President Roberto Palermo commented on the new deal: “We are thrilled to be the first official gaming partner of the NBA in Latin America. Through this new partnership, our clients will not only continue to enjoy our gaming offers, but they will also get even closer to the action with the chance to win NBA prizes and unique NBA experiences.”

NBA Vice President & Managing Director, Latin America Arnon de Mello added: “Supermatch is the exclusive authorised gaming operator in Uruguay, and our new partnership will offer more ways for our passionate fans to connect and experience the excitement of our game.”

As part of the partnership, Supermatch will use official NBA data and branding across its land-based and digital sports betting offerings throughout Uruguay. Supermatch and the NBA will also partner on best-in-class practices to protect the integrity of NBA games.

The deal comes after last month’s announcement that Sportradar and Genius Sports became the league’s first betting data partners in the US, with both gaining non-exclusive rights to distribute official NBA betting data to the country’s licensed sports betting operators.

Commencing at the start of the upcoming NBA season, Genius Sports and Sportradar will work closely with the NBA to ensure those who choose to bet on sports legally have access to official NBA betting data through licensed gaming operators in their respective states.
