BtoBet attended a bustling Peru Gaming Show in Lima, meeting and developing strong ties with both local and international operators keen on entering or expanding their activities in the Peruvian market.

In the wake of the event, the company has identified three key qualities that operators must ensure they have at their disposal to succeed in Peru. Technology must be jurisdictionally scalable; it must feature a wide range of international payments; and has to be scalable in terms of betting and gaming, with offers according to local players’ preferences.

Coinciding with its attendance at the show, BtoBet has published an insightful report that trains the spotlight on Peru, posing the question: is it LatAm’s next Colombia?

In the report’s intro, BtoBet said: “Whilst Colombia has been basking in the attention for quite some time due to its stable local scenario, another South American jurisdiction has been quickly following in its footsteps and emerging as a genuine prospect as the region starts to embrace and open to online gaming. With online gaming and sports betting legislation possibly becoming a reality for the Peruvian market later in the year, Peru has all the elements needed to emerge as a major player in the Latin American scenario.”

Zoning in on the online gaming angle, BtoBet chairman Alessandro Fried advocated the benefits of a legal framework that will regulate the market. He said: “A strongly regulated scenario is one of the steps for operators to safeguard their businesses’ success. The expected high level of regulation that will come into effect during the next few months will act as a safeguard for all parties who have invested in providing a regulated environment for the players.”
