Entering a region that has been established for quite some time could seem like a daunting and unenviable task. But that is not the case for Pateplay, which is bullish that their time is now to make waves across the U.S.

With online casino legislation languishing behind its sports betting counterparts, it could be argued that market leaders will provide tough to overthrow across the select few states that boast legality.

For the gaming solutions provider, however, years of intense groundwork is breathing confidence that significant strides are sure to be made.

Ivaylo Dzhavkarov, Head of Legal Department at Pateplay, addresses the long road that has led to entry, the reasons why such belief of triumph is held, the strategies that lie behind such a mindset and where the initial points of target lie.

Pateplay recently made its steps into the U.S. via a Pennsylvania licence. What does this mean for the company?

Securing our Pennsylvania license marks another major milestone for Pateplay as we continue to expand our presence across the U.S., widely considered one of the most demanding, highly regulated, and competitive iGaming landscapes in the world.

This was not something that happened overnight. Our entire team dedicated over two years of intensive work on-site in the U.S. to make this happen.

Securing a license in a state like Pennsylvania requires an enormous amount of preparation, full compliance checks, and endless regulatory legwork. Every single department in our company poured incredible effort and hours into meeting these strict regulatory standards.

For us, this step validates that our games, infrastructure, and compliance framework are built for the absolute highest tier of the industry.

It lays a solid foundation for our broader expansion strategy across the United States, proving that Pateplay can compete and deliver value alongside the biggest established players in the market.

Has the country been a long-term target for the company? If so, why was now deemed the perfect time to make your move?

Absolutely, the US has been a primary target for us from very early on. It is one of the most highly regulated markets globally, so establishing a presence here was always a key part of our long-term vision.

Why now? Because after over two years of preparation, building local infrastructure, and ensuring total compliance on-site, our products and frameworks are completely ready.

Entering Pennsylvania, a state known for its massive market size and exceptionally strict standards, serves as the ultimate proof of our dedication.

It demonstrates that our games and technology are built to compete at the highest level. We have built a solid foundation, so the timing could not be better to make our move and scale across the rest of the U.S.

How do you plan to make headway in a state that has been established as an online casino jurisdiction for a number of years?

Entering a mature state like Pennsylvania means we cannot rely on a generic approach. Local players already have plenty of options, so our focus is on standing out through quality, data-driven design, and player engagement.

We are delivering mobile-first titles with diverse themes and innovative mechanics that genuinely keep players coming back.

Our pipeline of two new games every month gives operators a steady stream of fresh, high-performing content. Combined with powerful promotional tools and rock-solid tech, we offer a complete package that drives long-term player retention.

How much localization do you plan to insert into your U.S. releases, or are you set to rely on what has been successful elsewhere?

Relying solely on what works elsewhere is a mistake in a market as unique as the U.S. American players have distinct preferences, so localization is a huge part of our strategy.

We are striking a balance between leveraging our proven, globally successful mechanics and tailoring our content specifically for the US player base.

That means adapting game pacing, adjusting math models, and fine-tuning volatility to match local playing habits. We are also introducing themes, visuals, and promotional features designed with North American preferences in mind.

At the same time, we know classic slot mechanics and strong gamification resonate everywhere when executed well.

By combining tailored localization with our core high-performing mechanics, we can offer content that feels both familiar and refreshingly new to US operators and their players.

Following Pennsylvania, where else can we expect Pateplay’s U.S. journey to go and why?

We have already secured our preliminary license for New Jersey, and we are currently awaiting final approval for Michigan.

Both states represent incredibly high-value jurisdictions with well-established player bases that appreciate premium, content-driven online casino experiences.

Our strategy in the U.S. is all about strategic, sustainable growth rather than trying to launch everywhere at once.

Entering Pennsylvania gave us a rock-solid foundation, and expanding into New Jersey and Michigan will allow us to build a powerful tri-state presence.

Securing these licenses proves that our technology, compliance infrastructure, and games meet the highest regulatory standards in North America, setting the stage for our broader long-term footprint across the U.S.
