British gaming operator bet365 continued its U.S. expansion by launching in West Virginia on Thursday, its third new market in North America since April.
West Virginia is the company’s 18th online sports betting state and the fourth in which it also offers online casino gaming. The operator received an interim license in January and approved for a full annual license on July 29, per West Virginia Lottery licensing documents.
bet365 noted that West Virginians aged 21 or older can now bet in time for the new college football and NFL seasons. It also brings some of its core features including its Early Payout Offer, which settles qualifying bets as winners when a football team takes a 17-point lead, as well as the newly launched Jackpot365 multi-tier progressive jackpot feature integrated directly within a betslip or casino game.
“West Virginia represents another important step in bet365’s continued expansion across North America,” said bet365 Head of Development Trip Stoddard. “As we grow our presence across the region, our focus remains on bringing customers the quality, depth and functionality that define the bet365 platform. With football season just around the corner, it’s an exciting time to introduce our sportsbook and casino offerings to customers across the state.”
What sportsbooks are in West Virginia?
With bet365’s launch, West Virginia now hosts 10 online sports wagering operator licensees:
- bet365
- BetRivers
- BetMGM
- Caesars
- DraftKings
- Ember Casino & Sportsbook
- Fanatics
- FanDuel
- Kambi
- theScore Bet
Most of those operators also offer online casino in the state, some via multiple brands. For example, theScore owner PENN Entertainment launched its Hollywood Casino app in the state this time last year, Caesars offers Horseshoe Casino in the market as well as its flagship app, and DraftKings-owned Golden Nugget Online Gaming offers iGaming.

bet365 adds new states, provinces
As referenced by Stoddard, bet365 scaled up notably in North America recently as it pursues continued growth on this side of the Atlantic. West Virginia represents its sixth North American market launch in the last 13 months, after:
- Kansas and Maryland in August 2025
- Missouri in December 2025
- Michigan (both sports and casino) in April 2026
- Alberta (both sports and casino) in July 2026
It also began offering online sports betting in Illinois and Tennessee earlier in 2025.
The expansion into West Virginia builds on bet365’s growing presence in regulated U.S. markets.
bet365 invested heavily in expanding its U.S. presence over the last couple of years. It spent approximately $135m to open a new 120,000-square-foot headquarters in Denver. in September 2024, it joined the Sports Betting Alliance (SBA) in June 2025, and launched a new ‘Winning Is Everything’ marketing campaign in March 2026 targeted toward bettors in the U.S. and Canada.
Massachusetts market entry may also be on its agenda. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) voted unanimously in April to reopen the state’s sports betting license application process, stating that it did so after receiving a direct written request from bet365. The operator offered no comment on whether it has plans to enter Massachusetts when asked by SBC Americas.
