Stats Perform has scored a deal with one of the largest governing bodies in sports ahead of the world’s most popular sporting event.

The London-based sports data company secured a partnership with FIFA, becoming the organization’s official betting data and betting streaming rights distributor. The deal makes Stats Perform the first company to obtain exclusive official betting streaming rights from FIFA. The multiyear agreement provides Stats Perform with data and streaming rights for some of the largest competitions in sports, including this year’s FIFA World Cup.

The deal also provides Stats Perform with access to data and streaming rights for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and other marquee events. Stats Perform also has exclusive betting rights to matches aired across FIFA+, a free digital stream platform that broadcasts live matches and holds an archive of games.

“We are delighted to partner with Stats Perform, a global leader in sports data. This innovative partnership will create great opportunities to deliver official products for the benefit of the game and its fans,” said FIFA CBO Romy Gai.

Licensed sports betting operators will be able to leverage Stats Perform’s rights to streaming data, which is collected and distributed by its in-house data solution, RunningBall. Stats Perform will offer its streaming data to operators in select markets.

Stats Perform will also have the responsibility of providing official player statistical data, insights, and live scores to operator partners. The company’s Opta data team is poised for a busy World Cup this summer after Americans wagered more than $1.8 billion on the 2022 edition of the tournament. The wagering came from over 20.5 million U.S. sports fans.

“FIFA competitions represent the pinnacle of the world’s biggest game. Our clients will be delighted we’re able to add FIFA competitions to our Opta and RunningBall official betting data portfolio, and our innovative, AI-enriched Bet LiveStreams service,” said Stats Perform CEO Carl Mergele. “We share FIFA’s vision to help the magic of the beautiful game be felt more deeply, by more fans, worldwide.”

In addition to FIFA, Stats Perform has recently secured data and streaming partnerships with soccer competition CONCACAF, Volleyball World and the European League of Football (EFL). Its deal with the EFL encompasses official live data for all 16 franchises.
