Delaware North is making a major change to its online sports betting strategy.
The hospitality and entertainment company announced that its sports betting brand Betly Sportsbook will no longer operate in Tennessee as part of a strategic realignment. Betly users in the Volunteer State can wager with the platform and withdraw funds until Dec. 29, before it shuts down completely.
“We’re proud of the foundation we’ve built in Tennessee and grateful to our players for their loyalty and enthusiasm,” said Delaware North VP of Interactive Gaming Lee Terfloth.
Betly could broaden horizons
Betly is exiting a Tennessee gaming market that only allows online sports wagering after initially launching in the state in 2022.
Delaware North is shutting down the brand in Tennessee to focus on its existing online sports betting markets for Betly and to allocate more resources toward its operations at Southland Casino Hotel in Arkansas. As of November 2025, Betly also offers online wagering in Arkansas, Ohio and West Virginia, and the brand also offers online casino gaming in West Virginia.
Delaware North has not ruled out reentering Tennessee’s online gaming market, and the company is also exploring launching Betly in other online sports betting markets.
“As we evolve our business strategy, we’re excited to concentrate our efforts on our existing markets, while also preparing for new state launches that will further strengthen our footprint,’ said Terfloth. “We encourage customers who are missing out on the experience to visit the sportsbook at Southland Casino Hotel or place wagers online while in the state of Arkansas.”
SBC Americas reached out to the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council for comment on the exit. This story will be updated if a response is received from the gaming regulator.
Betly secures key partnerships
Betly’s online sports betting and casino operations are powered by Playtech, signing a partnership with the gambling software and technology company in November 2024.
That same month, Delaware North selected fintech company Nuvei as its payment solutions provider and secured a responsible gaming partnership with Birches Health.
