FanDuel is leveraging artificial intelligence to help customers find an edge when betting.

According to a Forbes report, the Flutter-owned sports betting and iGaming operator has launched AceAI, a first-of-its-kind generative AI platform. AceAI is a generative AI chat feature that provides sports bettors with data and insights to analyze and place wagers.

The platform is built into the FanDuel Sportsbook app and allows bettors to submit voice or text requests in its chat feature. In return, the AI-driven chat provides relevant information to allow bettors to find an edge whether placing single or parlay wagers.

“As the leading sportsbook we think there’s an opportunity for us to set the pace on what experiences should look like for customers,” FanDuel VP of Product Transformation and Innovation Jon Sadow told Forbes. “We are in a position as a market leader to have a tremendous amount of data that we can actually put into customers’ hands that empower them to make educated decisions.”

Development of the AI product was led by Sadow, who joined FanDuel after co-founding carpool software platform Scoop Technologies. AceAI has soft-launched with the feature only available to roughly 1% of FanDuel customers. The platform is currently only able to provide data and insights for the NFL and NBA with plans to expand to other sports.

FanDuel to use AI to identify compulsive gambling

AceAI also fosters responsible gaming.

The platform is designed to detect problem gambling behavior and provide direct access to resources, including FanDuel’s RG site and notification of compulsive gambling to staff.

Last month, FanDuel reported that nearly half of its customers used its My Spend dashboard during the NFL season. The RG dashboard saw roughly 3.5 million users throughout the season obtain detailed information regarding deposits and betting activity.
