Daily Racing Form secures affiliate partnership with Catena Media

Catena Media is bolstering its affiliate business with an exclusive partnership with horse racing data and media company Daily Racing Form.

The two entities are teaming up to provide DRF customers with high-quality sports betting content and promotions. DRF, owned by Affinity Interactive, provides its customers across North America with access to proprietary handicapping and analytics tools. DRF will also leverage Catena’s services to give new customers access to expert picks.

Catena Media makes company-wide changes

Catena is collaborating with DRF as it overhauls its operations amid a decline in revenue.

On a Q2 2024 earnings call, Catena CEO Manuel Stan said the company will have a “product-focused operating model,” replacing a geographical, hyper-local structure.

Catena is poised to focus on its social sweepstakes casino vertical, which accounted for more than one-third of casino revenue in Q2. During the quarter, Catena saw its casino vertical in North America report a 13% year-over-year increase in revenue. In North America, its sports segment posted a 53% drop in revenue compared to Q2 2023.

In Q3 2024, Catena saw its total revenue in North America decrease by 29% compared to the same period last year. The company also saw depositing customers decline by 32%.
