FanDuel is making an effort to promote the importance of employment opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The gambling giant has landed a partnership with Advancing Indigenous People in STEM (AISES) to promote the development of employment opportunities in STEM for tribal communities. The partnership will also promote the importance of STEM in gaming.

“AISES stands as an unparalleled leader in advancing Indigenous people in STEM,” said President Sarah EchoHawk. “By forging vital relationships in sectors like gaming, a cornerstone of economic and workforce development for many tribal communities, we are not just empowering future generations; we are solidifying our role as a formidable force for tribal sovereignty.”

As part of the pact, FanDuel will support the Resources for Indigenous STEM Education Program (RISE) to promote STEM careers in gaming. The operator will play a role in providing travel support to events in the gaming industry for students and other AISES members. Financial support for students interested in the casino industry is also offered.

“Indian gaming is a powerful tribal economic development tool in many tribal communities and often a keystone feature of sustainable job creation,” said FanDuel VP of Strategic Partnerships Sequoyah Simermeyer. “FanDuel recognizes that there is a wealth of talent in the nearly 250 gaming tribes in the United States and is proud to work with AISES to help tribal communities develop skills in STEM that will create job opportunities and improve lives for future generations.”

FanDuel is a sponsor of the AISES Conference, which takes place in Texas from Oct. 3-5.
