Flutter Entertainment is adding two new members to its Board of Directors.
The Ireland-based gaming conglomerate has announced the appointment of Christine M. McCarthy and Robert R. Bennett to its Board of Directors, effective July 30. McCarthy joins Flutter’s board as a director and chair of the Finance Committee at Procter & Gamble. She also held several positions at The Walt Disney Company, including CFO.
Bennett has joined Flutter’s board as the Managing Director of real estate-focused private investment company Hilltop Investments, LLC. Prior to his role at Hilltop, Bennett served as the president of media and entertainment brand Discovery Holding Company. He also served as CEO and Principal Financial Officer of Liberty Media Corp.
“Christine and Dob’s [Bennett] extensive experience in the entertainment industry will be an invaluable asset to Flutter as we continue to extend our leading position as a global online sports betting and iGaming provider,” said John Bryant, chair of the Flutter board. “We look forward to welcoming both Dob and Christine to the Board as non-executive directors and benefitting from their unique perspective and industry knowledge.”
Bennett and McCarthy join Flutter’s board amid a recent shakeup of its leadership team.
Flutter’s former CFO and executive director Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson left the company in May amid its primary listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Flutter cited the requirement of management staff to spend extension time in North America. As a result, Edgecliffe-Johnson and Flutter agreed to part ways due to his family commitments in the U.K.
Edgecliffe-Johnson was replaced by Rob Coldrake, who was CFO of Flutter International.
