MGM Resorts International and Playtech have struck up a strategic partnership that will provide new live casino content to iGaming operators. The branded MGM Live content will be streamed directly from casino floors in Las Vegas.

The offerings will include single and double-zero roulette and baccarat games which will be broadcast live both MGM Grand and the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. MGM Live content will be available for licensing in regulated markets worldwide.

MGM Resorts President and CEO Bill Hornbuckle said that the launch, “furthers our strategic vision to be the world’s premier gaming entertainment company.”

“We believe the content, celebrity talent and sophisticated gaming experience that we will offer – all from the trusted and highly reputable brands of MGM Resorts – will be unmatched in the industry,” he added.

The companies say that as the partnership evolves, they intend to expand MGM Live with a variety of exclusive Playtech games, branded TV game shows, celebrity-hosted trivia shows and entertainment experiences.

Mor Weizer, Playtech CEO, said that the new partnership is, “pioneering a new live entertainment category.”

“This alliance combines the strength of MGM Resorts’ global prestige with Playtech’s extensive international market knowledge and innovative games,” added Weizer. “Our alliance is built on a shared vision to create an innovative and unique customer experience alongside our commitment to safer gambling. Both Playtech and MGM Resorts are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of player protection and ensuring our offerings are enjoyed responsibly.”

MGM Resorts looks to go fully omnichannel

Hornbuckle has said in the past that he wants MGM Resorts to create a fully omnichannel ecosystem across numerous markets. The company belives this new partnership with Playtech can revolutionize live casino entertainment.

MGM has made other progress towards its goal with other big moves in recent years, such as the acquisitions of LeoVegas and Push Gaming and its digital-only launch of BetMGM in the UK.

Playtech continues to forge ahead

Meanwhile, Playtech has also been innovating.

Back in December, the company opened its third live gaming studio in the U.S. in Pennsylvania, designed to offer live casino gaming on a 24/7 basis. That opening marked Playtech’s third state with a physical presence, after Michigan and New Jersey.

The same month, it also partnered with Boyd Interactive to supply its online casino and live casino content across regulated U.S. markets.
