Alternative sports specialists ALT Sports Data has agreed on a deal to become the sole distributor of sports betting data for the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) Mission Foods Drag Racing Series events.

The California-based firm will facilitate legal and official sports betting on the NHRA events and provide fans with real-time statistics, odds and insights.

“We’re thrilled to partner with ALT Sports Data, which is a proven and highly respected name in the sports data world, and this represents the start of an exciting and bold new step for NHRA,” NHRA Vice President and Chief Development Officer Brad Gerber said. “Partnering with ALT Sports Data puts NHRA on the best path forward to work with legal and official sports betting entities. It’s going to be a terrific way for our fans to engage and interact with NHRA Drag Racing on a whole new level.”

ALT Sports provides data that allows sports bettors to wager effectively on alternative sports whether in pre-match or live betting scenarios. It has a portfolio of partners that includes the Professional Bull Riders, the World Surf League, the Major Arena Soccer League and the Dana White-owned Power Slap organization.

“At ALT Sports Data, we are committed to enhancing the fan experience and driving engagement in the sports we admire,” added ALT Sports Data Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer Todd Ballard. “Our collaboration with NHRA will provide a gateway for a broader audience to immerse themselves in the excitement of the world’s premier drag racing series, through legal sports betting.”

ALT Sports Data teams up with Betway

Earlier this year ALT Sports became the official betting operator of Betway. As part of the deal, the Malta-based firm can leverage ALT Sports’ portfolio of sports properties in a bid to engage and acquire new customers.

At the time of the announcement, Betway Vice President of Marketing Mike Addonizio expressed his excitement for the partnership and explained that it had come about due to the “growing demand for alternative sports”.

“Betway offers our players thousands of markets, and this partnership will continue to enhance that experience by providing another avenue for players to immerse themselves in our product. We can’t wait for our customers to utilize this new data,” added Addonizio.
