Betting and gaming platform provider Sportingtech has announced that it has hired Claire Bailiss as Chief People Officer.

Her appointment follows a number of internal promotions at the company and the appointment of a new CEO.

At the beginning of the year Tom Ustunel replaced Richard McGuire as Sportingtech’s CEO after working with the firm through his First Gen Consulting firm.

Bailiss and Ustunel have crossed paths previously, as they both most recently worked for the American iGaming platform GAN.

Bailiss worked for the operator for the last seven years, most recently serving as its Director of HR, while Ustunel was the firm’s Chief of Gaming Operations between March 2021 and May 2022.

“I am delighted to officially welcome Claire as our new Chief People Officer. Claire has been successfully building high-performing teams and fostering positive environments for more than two decades,” said Ustunel. “Our brilliant team is our strongest asset and under Claire’s leadership, we look forward to strengthening our position as one of the industry’s best employers.”

Within the newly created role at Sportingtech, Bailiss will be tasked with increasing employee engagement, promoting a positive working culture and leading talent development.

According to the company it created the role of CPO in order to further enhance its positive working environment and boost employee satisfaction.

“People are at the heart of what makes Sportingtech so successful, which is why I am delighted to join this brilliant company as CPO,” added Bailiss. “I will look forward to working with new and existing members of the Sportingtech team as they share in the company’s achievements and build on its continued growth.”
