BetMGM has expanded its igaming offering by unveiling a new online slot game inspired by the Luxor Hotel and Casino, owned and operated by joint-parent company MGM Resorts.

Luxor Fortunes, developed by Light & Wonder, showcases imagery of the Las Vegas-based casino, which includes the Luxor Pyramid and Ancient Egyptian theme.

While BetMGM plans to offer the slot in all jurisdictions where it offers igaming, it is currently only live in New Jersey and Michigan.

“Luxor Fortunes is a perfect example of BetMGM’s omnichannel ability to create games based on iconic MGM Resorts properties. Luxor Fortunes already has enjoyed early success at BetMGM,” said BetMGM’s Vice President of Gaming Product and Content Oliver Bartlett.

Luxor Fortunes is a 5×3 reel with 234 ways to win and features of the slot include four jackpots, frees spins and turbo mode. According to BetMGM, Luxor Fortunes is similar to 88 Fortunes which they say is one of the most popular online slots in North America.

“Incredibly proud and pleased to see the Luxor Fortunes game go live across New Jersey and Michigan. The ideation, creation and level of quality in this game is testament to the long-standing and growing relationship Light & Wonder has with BetMGM. We are excited to see how players respond to this epic game,” added Light & Wonder VP of Game Development Rob Procter.

BetMGM reported $1.9B in revenue in 2023

This month, BetMGM revealed its earnings for 2023. The operator generated a net revenue of $1.96 billion which is up 36% year-on-year and within its previous guidance that projected net revenue between $1.8 billion and $2 billion in 2023. Despite this, BetMGM estimates an EBITDA loss of approximately $67 million in 2023, though it did achieve its aim of being EBITDA positive in H2.

BetMGM also announced in February that it has signed a deal with X, formerly Twitter, to become the platform’s exclusive live odds sports betting partner. This deal is the first-of-its-kind between a sportsbook and social media brand.
