MGM Resorts International has been recognized for its role in employing military veterans and their families.
The casino operator has been named in the Best for Vets: Employers List in the Military Times for 2023, after also being named in the 2022 edition of the list for its workplace culture and recruitment policies for veterans, current service members and their families.
Based on an assessment of the policies and practices when it comes to military veterans, the Best for Vets, Employers Survey is a recognized compilation of employers that veterans use to find work as they transition from military to civilian life.
The list documents how attractive an employer is based on these parameters and MGM was the highest-ranked firm in Nevada and the top-rated hospitality firm in the US.
Primarily this is due to its professional development programs that aim to recruit military men and women and develop their new careers. Meanwhile, MGM also has employee network groups that bring together military veterans.
The casino operator plays host to the annual Salute to the Troops experience in Las Vegas in collaboration with USO and American Airlines. Salute to the Troops is a five-day celebration marking over 100 active-duty armed force service members who have been injured in the field.
2023’s edition took place earlier this month at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, one of MGM’s properties on the Las Vegas Strip and features a variety of activities throughout the week, including excursions around Las Vegas and southern Nevada.
MGM is also the yearly sponsor of the Las Vegas Veterans Day Parade as it flaunts its commitment to US veterans.
“MGM Resorts is proud to honor the commitment and sacrifice of our nation’s Veterans, service members and their families, underscoring our steadfast dedication to fostering a culture of inclusion,” said Jyoti Chopra, Chief People, Inclusion, and Sustainability Officer.
“We are unwavering in our efforts to extend support, resources and career opportunities to those who have courageously defended our liberties and fundamental human rights.”
