Next week at the Global Gaming Expo, Light and Wonder will bring the tension and excitement of Red Light, Green Light with the debut of a Squid Games-branded slot game.

This is the first time that Netflix has executed a casino licensing deal for one of its streaming titles.

The game will be housed inside Light and Wonder’s HORIZON cabinet, which features a 75″ screen with 600,000 individual pixels. Gameplay will integrate iconic games from the series such as Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, and the glass tile game.

“Light & Wonder is proud to be the first slot gaming company in the industry to partner with Netflix’s Squid Game and bring this ground-breaking show to life across multiple casino gaming platforms,” said Matt Wilson, Light and Wonder Chief Executive Officer. “We’ve seen how combining fan-favorite shows with immersive gameplay can resonate with audiences both digitally and on casino floors. Unveiling this captivating game on our innovative HORIZON cabinet makes for an unparalleled player experience.”

The game will not hit casino floors until 2024 but people can get a glimpse at the new title at Light and Wonder’s booth during G2E next week.

The slot is just one way that Netflix continues to grow the Squid Game brand after it became a bit of a surprise success for the streaming service in 2021. In addition to ordering a second season of the show, Netflix also developed a reality show based on Squid Game that will premiere next month.

As it has with other series like Stranger Things, Netflix is also creating an experiential attraction around Squid Games that will come to Los Angeles in December.
