iGaming Ontario has confirmed that Heidi Reinhart has joined the organization as its new chairperson.

Reinhart is the replacement for the inaugural chair Dave Forestell, who was appointed as the Chair of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario last week.

In addition to being a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, where she practices securities and corporate law, Reinhart is also a member of the Ontario Securities Commission’s Securities Advisory Committee and the Toronto Stock Exchange Listing Advisory Committee.

iGO’s new chief has also been a member of the AGCO board of directors since 2020, and during the current year received the King’s Counsel designation.

“iGaming Ontario welcomes Ms Reinhart and extends a sincere thank you to Mr Forestell for his leadership of this agency from its inception,” a statement from the organization read.

Forestell became iGO’s first chair in July 2021, providing strategic leadership as the province opened up its regulated online gambling market in April 2022.

iGO recently reported the province’s financial figures for the three months ended June 30, noting that players bet over CAD$14bn. This resulted in total gaming revenue of CAD$545m, up 3.6% quarter-on-quarter, from 920k active player accounts.

Casino games, including slots, live and computer-based table games and peer-to-peer bingo, made up 83% of this figure and contributed 72% of the CAD$545m gaming revenue.

Betting, including on sports, esports, as well as proposition and novelty bets, ranked second with total wagers of CAD$2bn and gaming revenue of CAD$138m.
