Caesars Entertainment has confirmed the opening of its temporary casino facility in Colombus, Nebraska as the construction of its permanent casino continues.

Located at Platte Country Ag Society Park, Colombus Casino offers players over 250 slot machines as well as horse racing via the pre-existing simulcast technology at Ag Park.

Caesars’ leadership, alongside Mayor of Colombus Jim Bulkley and Colombus Exposition and Racing executive Tom Jackson, came together for a ribbon-cutting ceremony as the temporary facility began taking customers.

Columbus Casino is the temporary casino that will be open whilst construction of Harrah’s Colombus, NE Racing & Casino, is taking place.

Set to open in the first half of next year, Harrah’s Colombus is being built alongside Colombus Exposition and Racing and will be a 28,000-square-foot casino and sportsbook.

The permanent location will offer over 5400 slot machines and 14 table games, and will also have a branch of The Brew Brothers restaurant.

“Opening the Columbus Casino is a huge milestone for us in the Harrah’s Columbus project,” said Don Ostert, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino.

“With the tremendous support from the community of Columbus, we’re proud to open our doors and welcome guests to the temporary facility for the first time.”

Players at the temporary Colombus Casino can already earn points for the Caesars Rewards loyalty program, which can be redeemed at any Caesars property nationwide.
