BetMGM has confirmed that the $2m BetMGM Poker Championship will return to the ARIA Resort & Casino in 2023.

Taking place at the Las Vegas resort for the second consecutive year, the tournament is set to take place June 9-13 and will see players from New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ontario compete for the grand prize.

The BetMGM Poker Championship is a $3,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament, with a $2m top prize, which will feature qualifiers from players in the aforementioned territories competing.

Beginning on June 9, the tournament will take place at the Poker Room within the resort and is scheduled during the 2023 ARIA Poker Classic, six days of poker action within the property.

Luke Staudenmaier, Director of Poker at BetMGM, commented: “It’s great to bring BetMGM players back to Las Vegas during one of poker’s most exciting times of the year.

“For a second straight year, ARIA is delivering a championship event and we are happy to continue to build on our relationship with MGM Resorts, while connecting BetMGM online players to the best poker rooms in the United States.”

Online qualifiers for the tournament begin on May 1, with over 100 matchups taking place before the tournament begins.

Those who qualify from the heats will win packages including a $3,500 buy-in for the BetMGM Poker Championship, plus an $800 buy-in for the separate Mystery Bounty event, as well as travel expenses and a six-day stay at ARIA.

The final will take place on June 13 and will be streamed live on PokerGO Studio, where people can watch the winner take home $2m.

“Partnering with BetMGM for another summer championship is a tremendous opportunity for us to offer poker players a one-of-a-kind experience,” added Sean McCormack, MGM Resorts Director of Poker Strategy.

“ARIA has doubled the guarantee from last year to $2m, giving the competitors the chance to win one of our industry’s top prize pools.”
