Sightline Payments has linked with card issuer Visa to introduce branded Play+ cards in the US for the first time.

Boasting over 1.5 million cardholders in North America, Sightline’s Play+ card aims to innovate the digital payments experience for players in casinos across the US.

Despite being one of the most cash-centric industries remaining in the US, the gaming sector is increasingly aiming to speed up innovation in the payments space, particularly following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sightline has expressed its vision that, with help from its Play+ card, the omnichannel payments solution rolling out will allow players to spend their money across an entire resort using just one payment method.

“We are honored to work with Visa as we continue to transform the payment experience across the casino resort ecosystem,” said Joe Pappano, Sightline Payments Co-CEO. “Leveraging modern payments solutions strengthens the relationship between the resort and its patrons.

“Enabling customers to use a single wallet for anything across the resort provides guests a better experience while earning loyalty for everything they do on property.”

By linking with Visa, Sightline benefits from the global firm’s tokenization which helps to protect users from fraud threats and identity theft.

The firm also stated that its card will provide ‘enhanced safety and security’ by eliminating the requirement for cash across casino resorts.

This move comes just months after Sightline made a $300m commitment to implement cashless gaming options at over 250,000 slot machines in the US as it seeks to revolutionize the payments journey for players.
