PointsBet is debuting a new show for the FIFA World Cup called ‘Stoppage Time with Ian Joy’, offering insights and previews of every game at the soccer tournament.

Hosted by American-born Scottish sports broadcaster and former professional footballer Ian Joy, the show will be integrated into the PointsBet app, providing bettors with information as they bet on the World Cup.

The announcement of Stoppage Time with Ian Joy closely follows the operator’s recent Soccer OddsFactory launch, a new product suite that will deliver over 130 live market betting soccer options as part of its OddsFactory proprietary technology integration.

“With the most talked about soccer event beginning in just a few short days, we’re building PointsBet to be the premier destination for all things World Cup – from market-leading live betting options to best-in-class content,” commented Liam Roecklein, SVP of Content at PointsBet USA.

“The interest in soccer continues to grow among the US betting community and we’re tapping into that with the debut of our new show ‘Stoppage Time with Ian Joy.’ Whether you’re new to soccer or a veteran, this show will deliver a whole new experience for bettors.”

New Stoppage Time with Ian Joy episodes will be available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on all podcast platforms, PointsBet’s social media channels, and on YouTube.

Each episode will see Joy joined by different guests, including former USMNT player Jimmy Conrad, soccer insider Fabrizio Romano, betting expert Jon Eimer, social media influencer Alex Ramos, and many more.

“I’m honored and privileged to be partnering with a leading sportsbook like PointsBet to create one-of-a-kind soccer content for the World Cup and beyond,” added Joy.

“This World Cup will be unlike no other, and I’m excited to bring soccer fans and bettors with a new way to enjoy every second of the tournament.”

Similar to Soccer OddsFactory, once the World Cup has concluded, Stoppage Time with Ian Joy will transition to cover the Champions League, English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, MLS, and more.

In October, PointsBet posted its Q1 2023 financials (Q3 2022), reporting group handle and net win year-over-year growth.

In the US, the operator saw its handle and net win rise YoY, while it continued to see improvements across all KPIs in Canada compared to the last quarter.
