Former USMNT GK Tim Howard joins BetMGM ahead of World Cup

Tim Howard has been announced as a celebrity brand ambassador for BetMGM ahead of the FIFA World Cup, marking the launch of a series of free-to-play games and promotions. 

The former Manchester United, Everton and USMNT goalkeeper joins the sportsbook and online casino operator to launch a series of activations going into the World Cup

One such promotion will include the $250,000 bracket, in which players will be able to compete for a $250,000 grand prize by predicting a perfect World Cup bracket.

Moreover, another free-to-play game titled Tim Howard’s Shootout Challenge will offer the opportunity to face Howard in a penalty shootout. 

Meanwhile, BetMGM will offer new customers a risk-free bet up to $1000 plus new users who bet $10 will be rewarded $200 in free bets if a goal is scored.

Howard is the most-capped goalkeeper of all time for the USMNT, with 121 caps between 2002 and 2017. The highlight of his international career came during the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, when he set a new WC record of 15 saves in a Round of 16 tie against much-fancied Belgium, as the US lost out 2-1 in extra-time.

Beginning his club career with North Jersey Imperials and MetroStars, Howard hopped over the Atlantic, joining Manchester United in 2003, where he was mainly used as a backup to Edwin Van der Sar. 

He was best known for his time at Everton, where he spent 10 years as first-choice goalkeeper, racking up 329 Premier League appearances, scoring one goal, and appearing in the FA Cup final of 2009 before returning to the US with Chicago Fire

In his BetMGM ambassadorial role, Howard will engage with BetMGM and MGM Rewards members in public and private events, both in-person and virtually. Further , he will feature across BetMGM social channels whilst making appearances on radio and TV.
