Real Luck Group has confirmed it will sponsor Thunder Awaken, a Peruvian esports team, in a move to bolster its position within the Latin American sports betting market.

Following on from its player acquisition debut in Brazil, Real Luck Group, under its operating brand LuckBox, will sponsor the esports team, which boasts over 16 million followers across its network.

The partnership sees several marketing benefits to Luckbopx including effective local reach to a highly engaged community in the esports space in Peru.

Thunder Awaken is set to compete in Dota 2 at the international 11, a significant event in the esports calendar and saw 37% YoY growth in 2021, with 2.7 million viewers, according to Real Luck.

A strategic aim for Real Luck, the partnership ensures that Luckbox will increase its visibility in the Latin American region and it is hoped that the deal will help to build on its growth strategy in the region.

Real Luck Group, Director of Marketing, Daniel Sanders, commented on the deal: “Peru is a strategically important market for us. Not only given the huge interest in esports, but also for expanding our online Casino and Sportsbook offerings to bettors in this vibrant market.

“This new initiative also gives the Luckbox brand exposure to 16 million (Thunder Awaken channels) fans via the Dota 2 International 11 competition. We look forward to working with local regulators and providing additional details regarding our Latam growth strategy over the coming months.”
