NorthStar Gaming has added a new member to its leadership team, appointing Jennifer Barber to the role of Chief Financial Officer.

Joining from Torstar Corporation, where she was also CFO, Barber is an experienced financial leader with vast knowledge in financial management, reporting, investor relations, and governance.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jennifer to NorthStar Gaming, she is a skilled financial leader who brings decades of financial management experience to our growing leadership team,” commented Michael Moskowitz, CEO and a founding partner of NorthStar Gaming.

“Jennifer’s wealth of financial management and reporting expertise is tremendously valuable to us as we rapidly scale our operations.”

At Torstar Corporation, Barber led and oversaw all financial reporting and management, the information technology team, and she contributed to corporate strategy and development as an active member of the Torstar executive team.

Barber held various positions in senior management after joining Torstar in 2012, and before the company went private after being sold, she led all its public filings and reporting while it was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Earlier in her career, Barber served as CFO and Corporate Secretary of Hydrogenics Corporation and has also previously worked for Stuart Energy Systems and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.

Last month, NorthStar Gaming launched NorthStar Bets in Ontario, a custom-built sportsbook and online casino gaming platform that features games such as live dealer blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and a variety of cumulative jackpot virtual slot machines.
