The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has given Armadillo Studios igaming certification, paving the way for it to launch in North Americas’ newest igaming market in the Canadian province.

The company, which was established in 2021, set out its stall in the US, releasing its first three slot titles there and signed a deal with Brazilian MMA star Amanda Nunes. It now has its ambitions set on cementing a solid position in the Ontario market which currently has no limit on the number of licensed operators.

Armadillo has detailed its excitement to be active in an ‘enormous addressable market’ with Ontario being the largest province in Canada by population and one of the most populous regions in North America.

After securing AGCO certification, the studio has revealed its intentions to ‘go live’ via its deal with EveryMatrix’s SlotMatrix aggregation platform.

David Stoveld, COO of Armadillo Studios, said: “We are proud to enter Ontario under new regulations. It has always been clear that Canada prioritizes keeping entertainment and safety in check, from environmental control to alcohol consumption, and I would expect no different from online gambling.”
Stoveld recently took part in an SBC Americas discussion on the future of igaming and online casinos in the US,, with a particular focus on developments throughout the rest of 2022.
