Legacy Fantasy Sports, a free-to-play fantasy sports app, has officially launched its game and app on the iOS and Google Play stores.
Powered by Stats Perform’s historical and current play-by-play data, Legacy Fantasy Sports offers a non-gambling fantasy sports platform that utilizes ‘patent-pending innovative technology’.
Users can build rosters on the app from a pool of current and former stars and play at any time without the need for live sports, extending each sport’s fantasy season across every day of the year.
Legacy Fantasy Sports was co-founded by Detroit Lions legend Herman Moore, and developed with the backing of former University of Oklahoma Head Football Coach Bob Stoops, as well as Cleveland Cavaliers Co-Owner Gary Gilbert.
“The sports world is emerging from two years of pandemic shutdowns, game postponements, and a lockout that threatened the MLB season – all impacting the ability of fans to play fantasy sports. We set out to change that,” commented John Latella, Co-Founder of Legacy Fantasy Sports.
“Our pandemic-proof, injury-proof, strike-proof and even retirement-proof game is here for fans to play whenever they want.”
Legacy Fantasy Sports’ software includes historical play-by-play statistics and players back to 1997 for the NFL and 1974 for MLB. Play-by-play stats of past players are picked from their career’s historical stats catalog, giving users a full game’s worth of stats in a real-time fantasy experience.
Grady Toombs, Co-Founder of Legacy Fantasy Sports, stated: “Every sports fan argues with the generation before him/her about the best players throughout history. We built a definitive way to answer those questions.
“This non-gambling game can also be enjoyed by teenage sports fans who don’t have the option to play other fantasy sports games before age 18. We want to get them excited and involved well before then.”
NFL, MLB and NBA games are available on the platform, with the ability to subscribe and play with retired NFL and MLB players. Additional sports including soccer, cricket, and hockey will be available soon.
Other features include in-game substitutions for live and legacy players, and a Triathlon experience, where users can pick athletes from three different sports to combine on one roster.
