Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) has appointed Nelson Parker as its new Senior Vice President (SVP) of Strategic Development.

In his new role, Parker will use his experience leading complex multi-party transactions and hotel and casino development projects to ‘identify, assess and execute growth opportunities and strategic new venture projects’ for MGE.

Parker joins MGE from Driftwood Capital, a private equity fund focused on hospitality investments, where he served as Managing Director.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nelson Parker to our executive team to lead the development of key projects and strategic partnerships,” commented Carol Anderson, SVP and Chief Financial Officer of MGE.

“With over 25 years of experience driving growth strategies in both gaming and non-gaming corporations, Nelson’s expertise in omni-channel global gaming markets, Native American gaming, lodging, and hospitality will contribute to MGE’s continued success.”

Reporting directly to Anderson, Parker will play a key role in MGE’s future growth and capital planning by ‘initiating and vetting growth opportunities’ and ‘collaborating with all functional areas to complete implementation’.

A gaming industry veteran, Parker has previously served as Penn National Gaming’s SVP of Corporate Development, Hard Rock International’s SVP of Hotel & Casino Development, Foxwoods Resort Casino’s VP of Development, and Argosy Gaming’s Corporate Director of Development.

Last month, MGE appointed Raymond Lin as its new Chief Legal Officer to develop the gaming and entertainment brand’s legal and compliance strategy.
