European and LatAm gaming executives to share ideas at SBC Digital Summit Latinoamérica

SBC Digital Summit Latinoamérica is to take an in-depth look at not only what international operators, suppliers and investors need to know about markets in the region, but also what local businesses can learn from European betting and gaming companies.

The agenda for the virtual conference and exhibition on 16 – 17 June 2020 has been designed to allow high-level executives to share a wide range of perspectives on the key issues influencing the growth of the Latin American gambling industry.

It features a speaker line-up of 60 renowned experts across four content tracks, one of which is Lessons From Europe on the second day of the event.

The track’s opening session is Leadership in iGaming, which will reveal how executives from major international operators and suppliers view the development of markets across the LatAm region and what they have identified as the biggest opportunities. The panel includes Andrea Rossi (Commercial Director for Southern Europe and Latin America, Betsson), Dmitry Belianin (CMO, Parimatch International) and Domenico Mazzola (Commercial Director, Altenar), with Becky Liggero Fontana (Lead Reporter, Ayre Media) in the moderator’s chair.

It is followed by The Old Country, which will examine what operators and suppliers in Latin America can learn from Spain’s iGaming market. It will draw heavily on the experiences of Spanish companies active in the region, as the panel assesses the differences between operating in Spain and LatAm, and whether the market in Spain provides any useful lessons for businesses looking to expand into South and Central America.

The speakers include David Plumi (Managing Director Spain, Betsson), Xabier Rodriguez Maribona (CEO, Retabet) and Jaume Moragues Farràs (Online Director, Luckia), with Cristina Romero (Partner, Loyra Abogados) acting as moderator.

The final panel on the track is Winning the M&A Lottery, which will take an in-depth look at how Latin American operators and suppliers can position themselves for acquisition. It will also apply an international perspective as the panel examines whether acquisition is a viable strategy for established European operators looking to succeed in fast-growing LatAm markets.

Speakers include Andre Gelfi (Managing Director, Betsson Suaposta), who is well placed to offer insights on the subject after Swedish gaming giant Betsson took a 75% stake in his Brazilian online racebook last year. Joining him on a panel moderated by Eduardo Morales Hermo (Senior Gambling & Betting Consultant, Ficom Leisure) are Ramón Monros Arconada (Senior Consultant, Italtronic Gaming Consultants) and Tomás García Botta (Partner, MF Estudio – Abogados).

Away from the online conference rooms, there will be plenty of opportunities for Latin American and European executives to connect during SBC Digital Summit Latinoamérica. It features a program of themed virtual networking sessions, roundtable discussions and workshops designed to bring together people interested in exploring specific topics with colleagues in the industry. The event platform also includes a chat facility and a virtual networking lounge to make it easy to contact fellow delegates.

SBC CEO and Founder Rasmus Sojmark said: “Whether your company is already well established in Latin America, is actively working to enter markets in the region or is just starting to research opportunities, you will pick up lots of valuable information on the Lessons From Europe track.

“The speaker line-up is packed with experienced senior executives who can offer in-depth insights on the challenges of doing business here and ideas for how betting and gaming companies can make the most of the many opportunities in markets opening up across the region.”

SBC Digital Summit Latinoamérica will use an advanced technological platform to replicate the key benefits of a physical trade show and make them accessible to delegates from their homes and offices.

In addition to the four-track conference and extensive networking opportunities, the 2,000 attendees can meet leading suppliers and see their latest innovations at the 20-booth interactive exhibition and during the exhibitor product presentation programme. The set-up is designed to help the industry to continue doing business during this period when travel and face-to-face meetings are almost impossible to arrange.
