The Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) Lottery has officially launched its ninth edition across the province of Saskatchewan where it will be offering over $4.2m worth of prizes and aiding in the ‘fight to save lives’.

The lottery is STARS’ largest fundraiser in the province, with the lottery providing ticket purchasers the chance to win over 1,800  ‘life-changing prizes’, such as  luxury vehicles, dream vacations, cash, electronics, appliances and two fully-furnished show homes.

In addition to the lottery prizes, the non-profit helicopter air ambulance organisation is set to continue in its role of caring  for all critically ill and injured patients in communities across Saskatchewan throughout the ongoing health pandemic. Those under the care of the organisation include both presumptive and confirmed COVID-19 patients.

STARS president and CEO, Andrea Robertson, stated: “STARS relies on community support to stay operational, and while many of our fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled, we are grateful to be able to continue with our annual lottery.

“The lottery gives our allies the chance to win terrific prizes and helps to ensure we can continue to fight for the lives of critically ill and injured people across Saskatchewan.”

The ninth edition of the lottery features STARS’ largest early bird prize package ever, with a truck, trailer, toys and $100,000 – all valued at $346,589 – up for grabs. In addition to this, the group will continue with its LUCKY STARS 50/50 variant which rewards the winner with up to $900,000, Saskatchewan’s largest 50/50 payout ever.

Every ticket purchased is eligible to win all applicable prizes if purchased prior to the early bird ticket sales deadline of June 25 and the final ticket sales deadline of July 16. Regarding 50/50 tickets, those must be purchased in conjunction with main lottery tickets.

Usually launching from Pilot Butte and Greenbryre Estates, the current COVID caused social distancing and gathering restrictions have resulted in physical tickets being unavailable for purchasing. As a result tickets can be purchased at STARSLotterySaskatchewan.ca or by calling 1-844-STARS SK (782-7775), with prices starting at $60 for the main lottery and $10 for the 50/50.
