The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has published its monthly figures for the state’s online gambling operators who collectively experienced a slight fall in gross revenue throughout may. Between them they generated a total of $52.09m in online poker, casino, and sports betting gross revenue, down by 1.8% compared to a total of $53.08m in May.
FanDuel Sportsbook still leads the line on sports betting revenue, while and online casino returns continue to be led by the Golden Nugget Casino’s group of sites. Online casino gaming win was $36.54m, while online sports betting win hit $13.75m and online poker win stood at $1.79m.
The fall can be attributed to May’s positioning in one of the slowest periods on the US sporting calendar. But that factor aside, the state’s online gaming operators still managed to achieve the second highest returns since the market opened.
BonusSeeker.com Managing Editor, Rich Migliorisi, noted: “It’s encouraging to see sustained online casino growth in Q2 as we lead into the slow betting and online casino months of the year. This just proves the power of sports betting as a key factor in building up online casino play.
“The big story ahead will be with Pennsylvania, who launched online sports betting last week and should have online casino in market by the end of July. It will be a big year for the online gambling industry in America.”
