The National Basketball Association (NBA) will broaden its existing partnership with DFS operator FanDuel Group to include American sports wagering. The announcement was made public during a news conference this week.
Under the terms of the agreement FanDuel will become an authorized gaming partner of the NBA and is free to use the professional league’s official game data and logos across its sports betting products. The financial details of the multi-year deal have been withheld.
FanDuel Chief Executive Matt King told Reuters that the expanded deal was about “…being able to deliver the best product to the market place”.
It has been a busy period of partnering of late for the NBA which has struck up collaborations most recently with The Stars Group, Codere in Mexico and Supermatch, the sports betting arm of Uruguay’s national lottery. The association also formalized a multi-year partnership earlier this month with Chinese digital content producer Migu to provide content to fans in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
