Upstart sports data supplier Catalist Sports is expanding its reach in the U.S. commercial gaming market with two new state licenses.
Catalist Sports announced that it has a secured supplier license in Arkansas as the state’s regulated gaming market welcomes new stakeholders for the delivery of online wagering.
The New York-based company is entering Arkansas after the two largest sports betting operators in the U.S. by market share launched online wagering in the Natural State.
“Securing licenses in new jurisdictions and strengthening our regulatory standing is fundamental to serving as a trusted, key supplier to our operator partners,” said Catalist Sports Vice President & General Manager James Monk.
Arkansas’s online gaming market
Last month, DraftKings and FanDuel launched online sports betting in Arkansas after receiving vendor licenses from the Arkansas Racing Commission. The two operators had previously bypassed entering Arkansas amid the state’s revenue-sharing requirements.
In 2022, Arkansas legalized online sports betting with rules that mandate operators to partner with a land-based casino. As part of the state’s gaming rules, the brick-and-mortar casinos receive 51% of sports betting revenue. DraftKings and FanDuel had previously refused to enter Arkansas’ online market, citing it was not worth the investment.
The two operators are now accepting Arkansas customers, with Catalist Sports also entering the state’s online market as new opportunities in the state present themselves.
In addition to DraftKings and FanDuel, Arkansas’s online gaming market is also home to Betly Sportsbook, Bet Saracen and Oaklawn Sports.
Catalist Sports also obtains license in Nebraska
Catalist Sports has also secured a supplier license in Nebraska, a U.S. gaming market that currently only offers retail wagering to residents and visitors. As part of the state’s gaming laws, retail sports wagering in Nebraska can only take place at licensed casinos.
Catalist Sports is poised to supply data to Nebraska’s retail operators as key stakeholders in the state continue to push for online wagering despite failed legislative efforts in 2025.
Earlier this year, an advocacy group formed of Nebraska casinos and backed by WarHorse Gaming and the Sports Betting Alliance delivered a petition to state residents.
The two-pronged petition aims to garner 300,000 signatures in support of bringing online wagering to Nebraska through a constitutional amendment while establishing the market’s framework. The petition was launched in March following a series of delays.
The delays were sparked by recommendations from the Secretary of State’s office.
The supplier licenses secured by Catalist Sports bring its total reach to 30 U.S. markets, following another recent approval in Missouri. The company is also planning to expand its reach to Canada after applying for supplier licenses in Alberta and Ontario.
“Arkansas represents an exciting next step for us, particularly as major brands prepare to enter the market,” continued Monk. “At the same time, our licenses in Nebraska, along with applications in Ontario and Alberta, and ongoing license upgrades, position Catalist to continue delivering scalable, compliant, and differentiated services to our partners”.
Catalist Sports lands major rights deal
Catalist Sports is bolstering its portfolio of supplier licenses after securing data rights to the Australian Open.
The Grand Slam tournament adds to Catalist Sports’ growing list of data rights for tennis competitions, which include the Billie Jean King Cup, Davis Cup and International Tennis Federation World Tour. Outside of tennis, Catalist Sports has data rights to marquee soccer competitions that include France’s Ligue 1 and Brazilian Serie A.
