BetRivers has launched an online poker network that connects players across four U.S. states.
The operator’s parent company, Rush Street Interactive (RSI), announced on Tuesday that its proprietary online poker platform, BetRivers Poker, has expanded into Delaware, Michigan and West Virginia.
The platform debuted in Pennsylvania last fall, where it is integrated with retail Rivers Casinos, providing players with in-person poker opportunities and live events.
Now, BetRivers Poker merges player pools across four states to create a larger and more competitive network that allows players to compete for larger tournament prize pool across state lines. By launching in Delaware and West Virginia, BetRivers Poker has become the only legal online poker platform in both states.
RSI intends to connect a fifth online casino gaming state, New Jersey, into the BetRivers Poker network later this year.
“By expanding the network, we’ll bring more players to our tables, offer a wider variety of games and raise the stakes with larger tournament prize pools,” said RSI CEO Richard Schwartz. “We’re thrilled to strengthen our poker footprint and deliver best-in-class competition and community-driven play across multiple states.”
Backed by poker pros
RSI said that BetRivers Poker was developed with direct input from the poker community.
BetRivers Poker uses the software created by poker pro Phil Galfond’s Run It Once online poker platform which Galfond sold to RSI for $5.8 million in March 2022. Galfond helped design the platform’s gameplay, features and rewards.
“As poker players, we built this platform for the players – all of them,” said Galfond. “From brand-new poker players to seasoned pros, we focused on fairness, fun, unique features, and meaningful player rewards. I’ve been involved from day one to help shape BetRivers Poker into a platform that delivers the best possible player experience.”
BetRivers Poker features a range of game formats including cash games, Sit & Go tournaments and Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs). It also has features such as Cub3d Sit & Go Tournaments, wherein players can win up to 1500 times their buy-in.
Seventeen-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) champion Phil Hellmuth is a brand ambassador and will help to market the brand through media, live events and digital content.
“I’ve won more bracelets than anyone in history because I know how poker players think and BetRivers delivers what they want: real competition, big moments, and a championship experience,” Hellmuth said.
Second brand to operate four-state poker network
BetRivers Poker is the second brand to operate a four-state poker network, after the WSOP brand which is now owned by Caesars.
WSOP operates a pooled poker platform across New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Nevada.
If BetRivers Poker does indeed add New Jersey to its pool in the coming months, it would become the first operator to run a five-state online poker network.
