FanDuel and International Game Technology (IGT) have renewed their multi-year agreement for IGT to serve as the exclusive retail sportsbook platform provider for the Flutter-owned operator across North America.
The companies have worked together since 2019, when FanDuel opened its first retail sportsbook in the U.S. at The New Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment in New Jersey.
IGT PlaySports technology currently powers 27 FanDuel sportsbooks in 20 jurisdictions. The renewal will see IGT PlaySports continue to power all of FanDuel’s new and existing retail sportsbooks across the U.S. until 2028.
“For more than five years, IGT PlaySports’ team and technology have helped FanDuel’s retail sportsbook operation deliver a best-in-class customer experience while helping us maintain our position as America’s number one sportsbook,” said FanDuel President Christian Genetski. “Given IGT’s experience as a global land-based casino supplier, we believe it offers the experience and capabilities we needed supporting our retail locations.”
“IGT PlaySports looks forward to supporting FanDuel as its exclusive retail sports betting platform provider in North America for four additional years,” added Joe Bertolone, IGT SVP of sports betting. “IGT PlaySports is committed to helping our customers realize the full potential of the retail sports betting market and differentiate their products through exceptional player experience and reliable technology.”
FanDuel also announced a new deal this week, launching Greentube’s online gaming content on its platform in Michigan and New Jersey.
Flutter lifts lid on FanDuel during Investor Day
Meanwhile, during Flutter’s annual Investor Day presentation, the company noted that its U.S. market-leading FanDuel brand holds a 38% market share of America’s gross online gaming revenue across its iGaming and sports betting operations combined.
Other notable tidbits included that for FanDuel’s sportsbook operations, parlays are proving highly profitable and make up 70% of all of the brand’s NBA and NFL betting. FanDuel is planning to capitalize on that by enhancing its parlay products with new features that include the ability to adjust betting lines for player prop markets and curated charting for wagers.
Over the last four years, Flutter has seen a 260% increase in the average odds wagered across its gambling brands. Flutter said FanDuel is projected to generate roughly $9.7 billion in revenue by 2027.
