After a rough stretch where the company had to pull out or revise operations in several states, PrizePicks is announcing an expansion into a new market.
New Hampshire launch will feature Arena peer-to-peer product
The company has been granted a fantasy sports operating license in New Hampshire. The new market is the 35th state for the operator.
New Hampshire first legalized fantasy sports in 2017. PrizePicks is the 17th operator to obtain a license in the state.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our skill-based fantasy offering to sports fans throughout the Granite State,” said Senior Vice President of Legal & Compliance Adam Packer. “We are grateful to the New Hampshire Lottery Commission for their thoughtful collaboration.”
With many states concluding that fantasy sports vs. the house does not fall into the parameters of their definition of fantasy sports, PrizePicks rolled out a peer-to-peer version of its pick’em product.
The peer-to-peer game, Arena, sorts players into groups based on their number of entries, buy-in and experience level. New Hampshire is one of ten markets where Arena is available to players.
The product launched at the start of the year and more than 100,000 players have submitted over 2 million lineups so far this year.
PrizePicks looking to make moves in the M&A world too
The news comes amid rumors that the company is looking to be more involved in the M&A market. Earlier this week, a report surfaced that the company had contracted Moelis & Company to look into potential deals for the organization. Moelis & Company is the same group that helped broker the sale of PointsBet to Fanatics last year.
