SBC has joined the Corporación Iberoamericana de Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (CIBELAE) as a new Associate Member, after the approval of the Board of Directors this semester.

SBC’s entry into the official membership of CIBELAE allows the company to strengthen the industry’s common strategies in terms of transparency and security, contributing to the lottery and gaming sectors of the regulated markets of Latin America, Spain, Portugal and France.

With more than three decades of experience in the aforementioned territories, CIBELAE is the non-governmental, non-profit organization that brings together regulators, operators, affiliates, media and suppliers of the gaming and betting industry, aiming at promoting the education and modernization of all the members of the markets.

As part of the Word Lottery Association (WLA), efficient regulation of the industry is one of the pillars of the Corporation, which seeks to deepen the networking between governments and companies to establish solid and responsible foundations in the development of lotteries, iGaming and sports betting.

Corporate social responsibility and responsible gaming are also the pillars of SBC, which since its establishment in 2009 has stood out for promoting knowledge, strengthening relationships and establishing collaborative work through its media and events.

Currently, SBC Media has several international sites where CIBELAE will be able to ensure its mission of “contributing to the sustainable development of its activities within the principles of Social Responsibility and Responsible Gaming”, such as  SBC Noticias, SBC Notícias Brasil, SBC News, CasinoBeats, Insider Sport and the iGaming Daily podcast.

Likewise, CIBELAE has participated in SBC events since its launch for Spanish-speaking markets, being one of the first members of SBC Summit Latinoamérica back in 2021.

Since then, both organizations have strengthened their shared vision of generating knowledge and promoting the principles of responsibility and transparency, consolidating the link through the membership that SBC now has, together with recognized companies in the sector such as Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), IGT, Betcris and Kambi.

“We are proud to be Associate Members of CIBELAE and strengthen our commitment to integrity with the Ibero-American lottery, gaming and betting industry,” said SBC VP of Relationships Latam Lucía Mouriño.

“After several years of working together, the official presentation of SBC as an Associate Member of CIBELAE expands our reach as main promoters of knowledge and responsibility among members of the industry.”

“We are pleased to announce SBC as a new associate member. SBC is a global leader in organising events for lotteries, casinos and gaming. At CIBELAE, we are committed to promoting the development, transparency and best practices in the field of state lotteries and betting, and we firmly believe that this collaboration with SBC will further strengthen our mission,” added CIBELAE Executive Director Rodrigo Cigliutti.

“It is relevant to recognize that, since the beginning of its events for Latin America, SBC has invited representatives of CIBELAE, thus valuing the influence that its members have in the region. We thank SBC for joining us on this exciting journey. We are confident that this alliance will be beneficial and will enable us to reach new heights in promoting excellence in our industry.”

CIBELAE will be part of the next edition of SBC Summit Latinoamérica, which will take place Oct. 29-31, 2024 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Miami, before reconverting into the SBC Summit Americas event, which merges the Latin markets with the North American markets from May 13-15, 2025.

CIBELAE’s participation in SBC Summit Rio is also expected during the second edition of the exclusive event launched for the Brazilian market in March of this year, and which will repeat its success from Feb. 25-27, 2025 in Riocentro de Rio de Janeiro.

“Since our launch in Spanish-speaking markets, CIBELAE has played a fundamental role in promoting our objectives and values among members of the industry. Being Associate Members now allows us to make official this mutually beneficial relationship for the integrity of the markets,” said SBC CEO and Founder Rasmus Sojmark.

SBC continues its work with Latin American regulators, such as the regulator of Buenos Aires City LOTBA, a member of CIBELAE and strategic partner of SBC to promote the regulated market in the Argentine capital. Furthermore, SBC is also partner of the Association of Permit Holders, Operators and Suppliers of the Entertainment and Gambling Industry in Mexico (AIEJA), the Colombian Federation of Gambling Companies (Fecoljuegos), the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) and the Brazilian Association of Defense of Sports Integrity (ABRADIE).
