Kambi has hired a new CEO after the resignation of Kristian Nylén earlier this year.
The B2B sports betting platform provider has appointed Werner Becher as CEO, effective July 25. Becher joins Kambi after serving as a CEO for sports data aggregator Sportradar.
“I am honored to take on the position of CEO at Kambi Group, a company that has been at the forefront of this industry for many years and one which I have the utmost respect and admiration for,” said Becher on his appointment. “I join Kambi at an exciting time in its evolution, as it continues to open up its service and widen its addressable market.”
At Sportradar, Becher spent two years as CEO of the company’s Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America business. In that role, Becher helped guide Sportradar through its initial public offering on the NASDAQ in 2021. During the IPO, Sportradar raised $670 million valuing the company at roughly $7.9 billion.
Becher also spent time at Sportradar as Managing Director of the company’s U.S. business. He has experience as a CEO spending over seven years leading the Interwetten Group, a Malta-based sports betting and live casino company.
Kambi gets a new board member
Becher has been hired as Kambi’s CEO following the recent resignation of Nylén.
Nylén stepped down from his position as a co-founder of Kambi but is continuing to have an advisory role with the company. The former CEO will serve on Kambi’s Board of Directors after being elected in May at the company’s annual general meeting.
