There now four online lottery courier apps operational in New Jersey as theLotter has joined an increasingly crowded market.

TheLotter has received regulatory approval to offer services in the Garden State and is now listed as an official retailer of the New Jersey Lottery. It will look to rival Jackpocket, Lotto.com and Jackpot.com.

As with other lottery courier apps, state residents who want to play popular lotteries like Powerball, Mega Millions, Pick-6 and others can order tickets directly through theLotter’s app or website. The company purchases the official lottery tickets on customers’ behalf and tickets are then scanned and uploaded to customers’ secure accounts where they can be viewed before the draw.

“Ordering lottery tickets online offers convenience and safety, and we’re proud to offer our services in the state, in addition to our operations in Texas, Oregon, and Minnesota, with plans to launch in New York very soon,” said theLotter’s U.S. Managing Director Peggy Daniel.

New Jersey lottery market swells

The number of lottery courier services in New Jersey has doubled in the space of a week.

Prior to 2024, Lotto.com and Jackpocket were the go-to apps in the state. Jackpocket was the first to market back in 2019 and Lotto.com went live in New Jersey in 2021.

Jackpocket, now a DraftKings property, branched out at the end of January of this year by launching an online casino in the Garden State in partnership with Caesars Interactive Gaming. That made it the first U.S.-based lottery platform to enter America’s iGaming market. Jackpocket Casino earned nearly $1.6 million in casino revenue in April, its second full month of operations, up 63% from March.

Then, just last week, Jackpot.com made New Jersey its sixth market just two months after it went live in Arkansas.

New Jersey’s lottery market is one of the largest in the country, with total sales reaching a record $3.72 billion in the 2023 fiscal year.
