Fanatics Betting and Gaming has unveiled Justin Thomas as an official betting partner ahead of this week’s PGA Championship.
As an official betting partner, Thomas will be tasked with highlighting new product enhancements, creating social content, and engaging with the Fanatics community over the next year.
“Justin Thomas is one of the biggest names in golf and an amazing ambassador for the game,” said Fanatics Betting and Gaming Chief Business Officer Ari Borod. “With him coming home to Kentucky to try to win his third PGA Championship, the Fanatics family couldn’t be more excited to partner with him.”
Thomas added that he was excited to partner with the Fanatics Sportsbook and he looked forward to engaging with its customers.
The current world number 31 and two-time winner of the tournament, will be seeking a third PGA Championship win on his home turf of Kentucky at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville.
Fanatics enhance golf offering
Fanatics Sportsbook has ramped up its golf offering in recent times.
Within the Fanatics app, players are now able to view shot-by-shot data, tournament leaderboards, course maps, and integrated odds powered by Banach technology. The operator also says that live streaming from select par 3 holes will also be available soon.
During this week’s PGA Championship Fanatics is running a FanCash for Birdies promotional offer. Bettors who opt in and place a wager on the outright winner of the tournament will earn FanCash for every birdie their chosen golfer makes during the first round of the tournament.
ESPN Bet becomes first major championship betting sponsor
It’s not just players that are embracing sports betting. Last week the PGA of America announced ESPN Bet as the official betting sponsor of the PGA Championship, the first time that a major golf tournament has had an official betting sponsor.
As part of the deal, which runs until 2026, ESPN integrations will feature across the television coverage on ESPN networks. The operator will also offer an ESPN Bet Member’s Lounge adjacent to the 13th hole, where ESPN Bet account holders can take advantage of beverages, covered seating and a VR golf simulator.
“The added onsite presence of ESPN BET as well as broadcast and content offerings will provide spectators with exciting new ways to enjoy and engage with all of the action during the PGA Championship,” said PGA of America Chief Commercial Officer Jeff Price about the ESPN Bet deal.
The PGA of America followed the ESPN Bet announcement with the news that it has partnered with the American Gaming Association’s ‘Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly’ campaign.
The partnership will feature co-branded responsible gambling content, educational materials, and strategic activations across the PGA of America’s digital and social platforms throughout the tournament.
