Fanatics Betting and Gaming has teamed up with Continent 8 Technologies amid its continued expansion in the U.S.

The operator will utilize Continent 8’s digital infrastructure which includes hosting all of its in-state data centers through AWS outposts.

Continent 8 will also be responsible for managing Fanatics on-premises infrastructure and services in 20 states across the U.S., including Michigan and New York.

“Infrastructure is the foundation upon which we build our sports betting and casino experience,” said Fanatics Betting and Gaming Vice President of Technology Bob Pascucci. “In Continent 8, we have a partner with an unrivaled reputation for supporting its customers, enabling us to continue to drive growth at pace.”

Continent 8 says that Fanatics has also signed up for its Gaming Exchange which is a private internet that allows customers to connect securely via a virtual private network across its backbone network.

“Fanatics is a high-caliber operator that understands the importance of infrastructure in delivering the top-quality player experience it is building its reputation on,” added Continent 8 Technologies Founder and CEO Michael Tobin. “Our leading digital infrastructure solutions provide the reliable connectivity operators need to deploy their online sportsbooks and casinos in regulated US states quickly and compliantly.”

In February Continent 8 launched in Vermont and also ramped up its operations in West Virginia by opening a data center in Petersburg.

Fanatics complete Pointsbet U.S. acquisition

Earlier this month Fanatics completed its rebrand of Pointsbet U.S. businesses after closing on its final state, Illinois.

Pointsbet confirmed it received a final installment of $225 million and also transferred any remaining entities to Fanatics which included its U.S. sports wagering, advance-deposit wagering, and iGaming operations.

At the time of the announcement, Fanatics said that completion in Illinois meant that the Fanatics Sportsbook was now available to 95% of the addressable sports bettor market in the U.S.
