Light & Wonder has brought a popular slot game to North America’s casino market.

The cross-platform games provider has announced that Dragon Train has made its debut at several casinos in the U.S. The game, which launched in 2023, quickly emerged as one of the fast-selling Light & Wonder titles in Australia. Now, casino visitors in Nevada, California, Kansas and Minnesota have the opportunity to play Dragon Train.

“Light & Wonder is thrilled to offer players in the U.S. the opportunity to enjoy Dragon Train with four exciting titles featuring experience-elevating game components,” said CPO of Gaming Nathan Drane. “We are encouraged by the game’s phenomenal success in Australia and are confident it will resonate just as well with U.S. operators and players.”

Dragon Train has launched in the U.S. with four themes giving players unique experiences. The games are housed on Kascada, Light & Wonder’s dual-screen cabinet.

Light & Wonder driving profits

The Las Vegas-based company reported historic results in 2023.

Light & Wonder generated a record $2.9 billion in consolidated revenue in 2023, a 16% increase year-over-year. The results were attributed to increased interest in its Gaming business with machine sales growing by 36% during the year. Light & Wonder also saw a 13% uptick in table product sales.

The company posted a net income of $180 million in 2023 compared to a net loss of $176 million for the year prior. It reported growth in 2023 behind lower interest expenses, higher revenue, and a lower loss on debt financing transactions which reached $15 million.

In comparison, debt financing transactions cost Light & Wonder $147 million in 2022.

Light & Wonder took advantage of last year’s success by making a strategic investment in February into Flows, a technology provider for the gaming industry. The investment will allow Flows, which has generated over 20 billion automations, to scale operations.
