Less than a month after announcing it would be entering the Connecticut marketplace, Fanatics Sportsbook is set to roll out its app.
The app soft launches on Dec. 12 but will open up to the entire state on Monday, Dec. 18. During the soft launch, Fanatics will accept 2,000 new customers before cutting off until the full launch next week.
Fanatics Sportsbook’s presence in the state will extend beyond online betting. The group will be upgrading the ten retail venues that previously worked with Rush Street Interactive to offer betting kiosks in the state. In addition to the Suzhapp kiosks, there will be odds screens and enhanced signage on site to promote the betting options. Those changes to the venues will roll out in the coming weeks.
The XL Center, home of the UConn Huskies and minor league hockey team Hartford Wolf Pack, will be the fourth sporting venue with a retail Fanatics Sportsbook. It joins the ranks of Progressive Field, Nationwide Arena, and FedExField.
The retail locations are as follows:
Bobby V’s in Stamford and Windsor Locks
Sports Haven in New Haven
Winners in Hartford, Manchester, Milford, New Britain, and Waterbury
The XL Center in Hartford
Aroogas in Shelton
With Fanatics taking over from Rush Street as the Connecticut Lottery’s sports betting partners, this marks the ninth state where Fanatics Sportsbook has rolled out operation. There are still several states that need to fully switch over from PointsBet, A Fanatics Experience. Iowa, Kansas, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania are still operating the hybrid brand.
Meanwhile, in Indiana, the Indiana Gaming Commission has approved the license transfer from PointsBet over to Fanatics. That means the operator can start switching from the full PointsBet-branded sportsbook in the coming months.
Rush Street struggled to compete with DraftKings and FanDuel in the state before exiting earlier this year. The Lottery is not allowed to offer online casino products like the other two operators, which are partnered with the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes.
