The library of titles on the skill-based app FanDuel Faceoff keeps growing with another title from a high-profile partner.

This week, FanDuel and the NBA have announced the launch of NBA Swish Showdown. The online basketball game draws inspiration from the 3-Point Contest at the NBA All Star Game. To be clear, the game involves thumb and finger dexterity as opposed to actual basketball skills. User success involves aim and the flick of a thumb to make as many virtual basketball shots as possible in a given amount of time.

Like other games on FanDuel Faceoff, players can challenge other players for varying amounts of money with the winner taking the prize and the app taking a small rake. Players can challenge friends or be randomly matched against competitors of comparable skill level.

To promote the game, FanDuel Faceoff is offering users a chance to make the Daily Shot and win their share of a daily cash prize. Users who play five paid or free games of NBA Swish Showdown this week will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card to the NBA Store.

This is not the first time FanDuel Faceoff has teamed up with a high profile sports partner. FanDuel General Manager of DFS, Free-to-Play, and Skill Gaming Aaron Champagne previously spoke with SBC Americas about the Faceoff product, in particular developing a game with former NFL player Rob Gronkowski.

Unlike sports betting or online casino, FanDuel Faceoff is an unregulated product offered in 32 states and Washington DC, though several states do not offer the card games in the Faceoff portfolio. Some of the states where Faceoff is not available align with states questioning the status of daily fantasy sports and which products fall within the regulatory definition of fantasy sports, such as Arizona and Michigan.

While the product is unregulate, FanDuel does utilize the same responsible gambling and KYC controls for Faceoff as its regulated products. The website for FanDuel Faceoff offers a full explanation of its rules and regulations as well as which states it is offered in.
