SBC has confirmed that four new industry executives will be inducted into the SBC Hall of Fame Class of 2023 ceremony that will take place as part of SBC Summit Barcelona.
The four names to be acknowledged at the ceremony are Gustaf Hagman, CEO and Co-Founder of LeoVegas, Jordan Levin, CEO at OpenBet, Per Widerström, former Catena Media board member and incoming CEO of 888 Holdings, and Brigid Simmonds, Chair of the Betting and Gaming Council.
All four will be inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2023 at the W Hotel in Barcelona on September 19. The event makes up part of SBC Summit Barcelona, which takes place September 19-21 at the Fira Barcelona Montjuic.
The grand ceremony will be hosted by former inductees of the Hall of Fame, SBC’s VP of Growth and Strategy- Americas Sue Schneider and Betting & Gaming Consultant at Fatcats, Simon Bold.
Schneider commented: “This is an occasion that will forever remain in the hearts of the inductees. It’s an opportunity for us, as an industry, to take a moment and recognize the incredible work they’ve done – from pioneering the concept of mobile-first betting to guiding companies through cultural transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and establishing ethical standards in the industry.
“I’m excited to celebrate the impressive individuals of the 2023 class who are contributing their best to propel our industry forward. Hosting this ceremony is as much an honor as receiving my own Hall of Fame award.”
Previous inductees of the Hall of Fame during 2023 include Michael Gaughan, Owner of South Point Hotel Casino Spa, Nick Bogdanovich, Sportsbook Manager at Circa Sports, Trish Lewandowski, Sportsbook District Manager at Caesars Digital, and the NJ Department of Gaming Enforcement Executive Director David Rebuck. These names were inducted into the HoF at SBC Summit North America in May.
