Martin Lycka honored by NCPG for RG ‘excellence’

The National Council on Problem Gambling has recognized Entain’s Martin Lycka in its 2023 National Awards for his excellence in the responsible gambling field.

Lycka, Entain’s SVP of American Regulatory Affairs and Responsible Gambling, was the recipient of the Don Feeney Award For Responsible Gambling Excellence for his work with Entain and the Entain Foundation, of which he is the chair. 

The ceremony was held last Friday in Washington DC at the National Conference on Gambling Addiction and Responsible Gambling 2023. Sponsored by Scientific Games, the ceremony aimed to recognize those who displayed “outstanding individual and organizational accomplishments in the field of problem gambling and responsible gambling”.

Other winners at the awards include Dr Jeffrey Marotta, Founder and President at Problem Gambling Solutions who took the Don Hulent Annual Award for Advocacy, and Janet Miller, the Executive Director of the Louisiana Association on Compulsive Gambling, who won the Joanna Frankling Annual Award for Direct Service. 

It wasn’t just individuals who went home with silverware, as several operators took home accolades at the ceremony. DraftKings was handed the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, whilst the Virginia Lottery took home the Gift Responsibly Campaign Award.

New Jersey Lottery won the Corporate Multicultural Communications Award and Ohio for Responsible Gambling won the Corporate Public Awareness Award.
