Kindred has confirmed that Patrick Kortman has been promoted to Interim CFO, replacing the outgoing Johan Wilsby who departs later this year.

Kortman is currently Kindred’s Director of Corporate Development and Investor Relations but will step up to assume CFO duties until a permanent successor to Wilsby is identified.

The interim CFO has also had experience in the financial services sector, having previously worked in senior positions at Nordea and Ratos.

He comes in as part of a wave of executive changes at Kindred in the last few months, which was headlined by the departure of CEO Henrik Tjarnstrom, who left his role after 14 years.

Replacing him was Nils Andén, who is also in the role on an interim basis and is conducting the strategic review of Kindred’s future prospects, which could result in a merger or full sale of the business.

Andén commented on Kortman’s appointment: “I am very pleased that Patrick has agreed to take on the role as Interim CFO at Kindred. Patrick knows Kindred very well and has a vast experience in the financial sector, and he will continue to bring great value to Kindred’s financial operations, to the wider Executive Team, and to the Board as we continue to focus on the strategic review.”

In addition to the Interim CFO role, two other interim appointments have been made to the Executive Team. Chief of Staff Usha Ganesan will assume the role of Interim Chief Finance Operations Officer, while UK General Manager Neil Banbury has assumed the role of Interim Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer.

Kindred explained that “all appointments will remain as interim until the strategic review is concluded”. The company will publish its interim 2023 trading results on 25 July 2023.

“I am delighted that we can maintain momentum and consistency across the company during this period thanks to our excellent senior leaders and strong employee base,” added Andén.
