Playmaker Capital has signed a deal with the National Women’s Championship 2023 to ensure its Futbol Sites asset becomes a media partner of the Chilean women’s soccer tournament.
The sports media firm has also reached an agreement to become a streaming partner of the professional soccer clubs, Colo Colo and Universidad de Chile.
Under the provisions of the latter, Futbol Sites’ Chile-facing asset Redgol will deliver live streams of select tournament fixtures via its YouTube channel. The first of these matches to be streamed, Colo Colo vs Universidad de Chile, garnered over 75,000 views on YouTube.
Redgol will live stream fixtures and deliver in-game and post-game analysis throughout the tournament as Universidad de Chile and Colo Colo progress.
The deals endure that Futbol Sites not only elevates its brand on a popular national sporting event but reiterates its commitment to women’s soccer in Latin America as it grows its platform in the region.
Playmaker launched Redgol Fem, a dedicated platform for women’s sports that is active online and social media, whilst the firm also has its Red Women podcast series, celebrating the achievements of women in sports across the region.
In 2021, Redgol was involved in the FutFem Awards, which honors the greatest Chilean female soccer players, streaming the ceremony and attracting large levels of sponsorship.
“At Futbol Sites we’re very proud to contribute to the evolution of women’s sports,” said Paulina Agüero, Futbol Sites Country Manager, Chile.
“We have strong conviction that by giving visibility to additional disciplines, new sponsors and brand partnerships will emerge to support female athletes, elevate competition, and improve playing conditions. As a media partner, we have a great responsibility to showcase these developments.”
Playmaker has placed Futbol Sites at the heart of its operations in recent times, and last month unveiled the appointment of three executives to spearhead the growth of the platform in the coming months and years.
