Pollard Banknote subsidiary mkodo has confirmed today that it has obtained Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) certification for its GeoLocs dedicated igaming geolocation service.

In a statement, the firm noted that this latest approval “solidifies the use of GeoLocs as a compliant geolocation software in jurisdictions worldwide that accept GLI certification.”

GeoLocs, which is currently operational with a number of igaming operators in Ontario, is now in a strong position, said mkodo, to establish itself as the “leading igaming geolocation solution in the same region”.

The service comprises a dedicated geolocation software development kit for web, iOS, and Android platforms across the igaming industry, enabling operators to self-manage geo-boundaries, meet regulatory compliance and validate player location and device information.

Managing Director Stuart Godfree welcomed the development, saying: “We’re pleased to secure GLI certification of our geolocation verification service, GeoLocs.

“The platform has been live in Ontario with our clients for the past decade, however, we are now eager to offer it more widely to operators across North America and other jurisdictions worldwide that accept GLI certification, to showcase our unrivaled geolocation service.

“GLI’s certification gives us a solid foundation for further growth with the goal to become the world’s leading igaming supplier in this space. The GLI approval is a credit to our first-rate product and our engineering teams who have been hard at work to ready GeoLocs for launch.”

mkodo recently announced intentions to offer GeoLocs beyond its igaming app clients to the wider market. Said the firm: “Purpose-built for the igaming industry, Geolocs is set to tackle global geolocation challenges as igaming continues to develop and open up in new territories, particularly across North America.”
